2016 WCSB Election Roundup

2016WCSBCandidateCollage

16 candidates for 7 seats!

Two District 1 candidates, Eddie Creech and Brandy Johnson, did not file petitions to run by today’s noon deadline.

The withdrawal deadline is April 14. After that point, the ballot for the August 4 election is set.

One school board member implied that an engaged electorate would cause people NOT to run for office.

“There are good people out there who will want to run for school for school board, and when they see what happened to candidates like myself, they may think there is no way I would ever want to throw my hat in the ring.”

Seven people wanted to fill the District 4 seat when Paul Bartholomew resigned in July 2015.
